Stillwater Form is a sculptural side table inspired by the quiet transformation of stone through water, time and natural erosion.

Rather than following a perfectly rounded pebble shape, the piece combines a soft cylindrical volume with gently flattened surfaces and subtle asymmetry. These restrained variations give the form a more natural and sculptural character, allowing its appearance to change slightly as it is viewed from different angles.

The surface is finished in a warm, light stone tone with subtle pores, mineral-like variations and hand-worked texture. Its substantial visual presence recalls natural stone, while the engineered composite construction makes it more practical for contemporary interiors.

Designed as both a functional side table and a decorative object, Stillwater Form works naturally beside sofas, lounge chairs, beds or within hospitality and boutique interiors.

Design Inspiration

Shaped by Still Water

Stillwater Form draws inspiration from stones resting along quiet riverbanks and shallow waterbeds.

Over time, water does not always create a perfectly round object. Some surfaces remain gently flattened, others become softly curved, while the transitions between them are gradually softened.

This natural balance between rounded volume and subtle planar surfaces became the starting point for the design.

Rather than directly reproducing a particular stone, the piece interprets this process through a simplified sculptural form—calm, tactile and intentionally imperfect.

From one angle it appears almost completely rounded; from another, a quiet flat surface becomes visible. This changing silhouette gives the piece a different visual character as the viewer moves around it.

Material & Craftsmanship

Stillwater Form is created using JART TEAM's optimized FRP-based composite material system, incorporating materials such as resin, glass fiber and selected mineral or stone aggregates according to the required form and surface effect.

The sculptural body is shaped and refined before multiple surface-finishing stages are applied by hand.

Through controlled texturing, coloring and detailing, the surface develops the pores, subtle tonal variation and tactile depth associated with naturally weathered stone.

The intention is not to imitate stone mechanically, but to reinterpret its weight, texture and sense of permanence through material and craftsmanship.

Form & Surface

Different from Every Angle

The design is intentionally not perfectly symmetrical.

Some areas remain softly rounded, while selected surfaces become slightly flatter before gradually merging back into the overall curved body. There are no aggressive geometric facets or sharp transitions.

This subtle variation gives each viewing angle a slightly different expression while preserving the calm, compact cylindrical silhouette of the piece.
