Erosion Bloom

Erosion Bloom explores the quiet transformation of form through time.

Inspired by rock surfaces gradually shaped by wind, water and weathering, the piece rises from a grounded sculptural base before narrowing through the center and opening outward toward the top. The silhouette creates a subtle sense of tension — solid yet seemingly carved away, substantial yet visually light.

Rather than reproducing a specific natural stone, the design interprets the irregularity of erosion through hand-shaped contours, layered textures and deliberately imperfect transitions. Small cavities, uneven ridges and softened edges give the surface depth, allowing light and shadow to continually change its appearance throughout the day.

Designed primarily as a sculptural side table, Erosion Bloom can also function as a compact display pedestal, hospitality surface, small presentation table or simply as a freestanding art object.

Its character sits somewhere between furniture and sculpture — functional enough to become part of everyday life, yet expressive enough to hold its own within an interior.

Design Concept

Formed by Time

Nature rarely creates perfect geometry.

Rock is gradually worn away, softened, fractured and reshaped by forces that are almost invisible in a single moment. Over time, these small changes create forms that could never be produced through strict geometric design alone.

Erosion Bloom takes inspiration from this slow process.

The narrower central section suggests material that has gradually been removed, while the wider upper form appears to remain suspended above it like a surviving layer of rock. At the same time, its upward-opening silhouette introduces a subtle suggestion of growth, creating a dialogue between erosion and emergence, weight and lightness, permanence and change.

The result is not intended to imitate one particular rock formation, but to capture the feeling of something that could have been shaped naturally over many years.

Material & Craftsmanship

Sculpted Form, Stone-Like Character

Erosion Bloom is created using JART TEAM's sculptural composite material system rather than being carved from solid natural stone.

The structure is formed with an FRP-based composite system incorporating resin, glass fiber and selected mineral or stone-like aggregates according to the required form and surface effect.

The initial shape is developed sculpturally, followed by molding, composite forming and multiple stages of hand finishing. Surface texture, tonal variation, pits, ridges and weathered details are then built and refined individually to create a convincing aged-stone appearance.

This approach allows the piece to maintain the visual weight and tactile character of natural stone while offering greater freedom in form, dimensions and practical use.

Erosion Bloom adapts naturally to residential and commercial interiors.
